Rock & Rye is a Faygo flavor of pop found primarily in MI although I'm almost positive that Ohio and Indiana or Illinois has it as well. Faygo pop is a Michigan made product. I have to say, Rock & Rye is one of my favorite pops because even throughout my travels I've never found a flavor to come close to what Rock & Rye tastes like! If I had to describe the flavor, I would have to say it tastes like Cream Soda and Red Pop mixed together. Sooo good!
So, due to the success of the Orange Crush cake I made a while ago, I decided, why not try it with Rock & Rye! I was so happy I did because it's even better than Orange Crush! If you have Rock & Rye available, give this one a try soon!
Ingredients:
- 14 oz. Rock & Rye Faygo Soda
- 1 Yellow boxed cake mix
- 1 container Whipped Cream
Directions:
1. Pour your boxed cake mix into a bowl.
2. Measure out your pop and pour it into your cake mix. Whisk well for 30 seconds. Spray your baking pan, pour your mix into the pan and bake per the box's directions.
3. Remove the cake and allow it to cool completely before spreading whipped cream on top as a frosting.
Here's the final product....
This cake lasted even less than the Orange Crush cake and my family flipped out over the flavor! It's so creamy and delicious! Try it out if you can today! Enjoy!

No Brainer!! Slow Cooker BBQ Lil' Smokies
I came about making this because I've been working a lot and wanted something easy I could toss together for my husband and daughters. Also, it's been getting pretty hot here in MI and who wants to slave over a hot stove after a long hot day at work? Not this girl!
Ingredients:
- 4 pkgs. Lil Smokies saugages
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 bottles of BBQ sauce
- 1 cup Water
Directions:
1. Toss your smokies and onion into the slow cooker. Add your BBQ sauce and your cup of water. Stir around and place your slow cooker on low. Cook for 5-8 hours.
Here's the final product....
I served ours with mashed potatoes and a side salad. It involved no thinking, it tasted delicious, and it lasted for two days of leftovers (bonus!). This is also a perfect dish to take to a pot luck! Enjoy!
